University Collaboration

AeroInfo Systems recognizes the value of investing in post-secondary education programs. We've actively sought out students for research, internships, summer projects and post-doctoral projects from our partners:

  • University of British Columbia (UBC)
  • Simon Fraser University (SFU)
  • British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT)
  • Dalhousie University

Leading edge learning – visual analytics

Since 2009, AeroInfo has supported a Visual Analytics program providing sponsorship of subject matter expertise, equipment and project coordination. Visual Analytics is a new and emerging field of study being pursued at the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and Dalhousie University.

This five-year initiative has challenged students on various topics including aircraft bird strikes, ergonomics in the workplace and marketing insight. Working with Boeing, we've also spearheaded the creation of the Vancouver Institute for Visual Analytics.

Centre for Excellence cooperation produce results

One of AeroInfo's key partnerships is a long-term agreement with the UBC Centre for Operations Excellence (COE). This agreement has produced a number of innovative projects including forecasting and analytics for aviation operational data which keeps us abreast of leading-edge insights into performance-based logistics.

Research key to discovery

We've also participated in government-funded research programs with the following agencies:

  • MITACS – Mathematics of Information Technology and Complex Systems
  • NSERC – Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada
